    Catholic Network of Volunteer Service
    Catholic Network of Volunteer Service (CNVS), a national association of faith-based volunteer programs, provides marketing, training, networking and technical assistance in order to help member programs accomplish their missions. CNVS promotes opportunities for men and women of all backgrounds and skills to response through domestic and international volunteer service to people in need.

    Council of Religious Volunteer Agencies
    Are you interested in volunteering? CRVA is a broad, faith-based coalition of North American organizations (promoters, planners, users) of voluntary service. With roots in the religious community, CRVA is an independent, non-profit association. Members include local, community-based organization using small numbers of volunteers and national agencies placing thousands of volunteers annually.

    DOOR - Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection
    Denver Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection (DOOR) began coordinating short-term urban educational experiences in Denver in 1986 under the auspices of the Mennonite Central Committee and Mennonite Urban Ministries. Their mission is to provide opportunities which help inform, educate, challenge, and motivate individuals to respond to the issues and concerns facing an increasingly urban world.

    Habitat for Humanity International Collegiate Challenge Program
    Collegiate Challenge is Habitat for Humanity's year-round alternative break program for groups of five or more students ages 16 and older. Students spend a week of their school break working on construction with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the United States.

    Peacework
    Campus Ministry Volunteer Groups Needed Worldwide
    Peacework offers a variety of rewarding global service projects for campus ministries, college service programs, and chaplaincies in countries all around the world. Since 1988, Peacework has arranged projects and partnerships for campus ministries and other groups in locations where short-term humanitarian service is integrated into the local culture and community and where projects help address critical social needs.

    The Pilgrimage
    The Pilgrimage believes that God’s creation is in need of justice and liberation. Justice must be experienced. Justice must be lived out by a way of life. The Pilgrimage is centrally located in the business and residential district of Dupont Circle, which is in the heart of Washington, DC. The Pilgrimage is a place where one exchanges gifts, stories, lives, and experiences with those of us who are hungry and oppressed. The Pilgrimage is also a place where one can learn about other major religions, or how to shape public policy.

    Project Transformation
    Charlottesville or Waynesboro, Virginia

    SUMMER INTERNS -
    Project Transformation is excitedly approaching some deadlines for our 2007 summer program.

    Summer Interns: If you know a college student that may be interested in a summer of study, service, and worship, encourage the student to apply for a once in a lifetime experience. Project Transformation interns serve in Blackstone, Charlottesville, or Waynesboro from June 10 through August 10. Application materials are attached. The deadline for completed applications is March 15, 2007. Interns will be selected and notified by April 1, 2007.

    Partner Churches: If your congregation is considering support the children at one of our three camps through time, talent, or treasure, feel free to contact Shaunna at shaunna@ptva.net for more information, presentation to the congregation, or a chat with your mission team. The deadline for Partner Church Commitments are March 1, 2007.

    Quaker Information Center
    Internships are generally part or full-time positions of six to twelve-month's duration which offer subsistence salaries or no salary in return for the opportunity to gain skills and to learn about an organization's programs by doing useful, productive work.

    Rivers of the World (ROW)
    Rivers of The World is a not-for-profit Christian ministry that targets remote river basins. Their goal is to serve with people who live in these river basins and those they serve determine their projects. They ask them what makes up their greatest challenges and covenant with them to meet and overcome those challenges together. ROW projects run the gamut of human, physical and spiritual needs. Academics, research, education and medical/dental concerns go hand in hand with church planting, construction, evangelism and Bible distribution.

    Westmoreland Volunteer Corps
    This is an opportunity for college graduates to engage in community service and advocacy opportunities in Washington, D.C through "The Westmoreland Volunteer Corps" sponsored by the Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ in Bethesda, MD: 301-229-7766 or Volcorps@westmorelanducc.org Through this program, students can:
    • work at a DC area service or advocacy agency for one year.
    • give aid to the homeless, the elderly, battered women, runaway youth, disabled persons.
    • be involved in a bilingual placements.
    • advocate to promote justice and peace, to end hunger, racism, poverty.
    • live in Christian community with other s committed to service.

    Witness for Peace
    Witness for Peace international programs — based in Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua and Colombia — are staffed with committed individuals who serve as WFP International Team (IT) volunteers. International Team members commit to a two-year term of service with the organization, akin to service with the US Peace Corps. International Team members design and implement the international programs of Witness for Peace, which include documentation, accompaniment, and facilitating educational programs for delegations of US citizens. Programs focus on the impact of US policies and corporate practices on the poor majorities of Latin America and the Caribbean.

    Leadership Development Events for Coordinators of Group Mission Trips
    The Leadership Development Events are jointly sponsored by the United Church of Christ Volunteer Ministries and the Disciples Home Missions Office of Disciples Volunteering. The focus is on leadership for adult, youth or intergenerational mission trip groups within the United States.
