The Common Ministry at Washington State University, located in the Interfaith House at Pullman, Washington seeks a full-time director. The Director administers both the programs of the Common Ministry and the operations of the Interfaith House. These responsibilities are diverse and include active involvement in programs of faith inquiry and development in the WSU community, providing pastoral care as requested on the campus and in the local community, fostering relationships locally with different faith-based groups, networking and fund-raising with a wide variety of groups, and supervising the Office Manager as well as any other staff or workers hired by the Common Ministry Council. The Director reports to the Common Ministry Council, partnering with them to vision, plan and implement the future of the Common Ministry. Requirements include an advanced theological degree or equivalent degree, documented experience in campus ministry with interfaith communities, and effective communication skills. The director’s salary package, including housing, medical and retirement benefits is based on experience, work record and depth of skills and varies between $50,000 and $65,000.

Chaplain/Instructor of Religion/Philosophy

Culver-Stockton College is seeking a full-time Chaplain and Instructor of Religion/Philosophy for immediate employment. The Chaplain reports to the Dean of Student Life and is responsible for the nurturing, development, marketing and implementation of programs and services to enhance the religious and spiritual life on campus. Responsibilities include: coordinate religious services and assemblies (including weekly chapel service); provide pastoral care for the campus community, regardless of faith affiliation [diversity]; develop strong relationships with community churches, especially with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); organize community service and sustainability projects; engage with students thinking about and preparing for ministry; and work with admissions to identify opportunities to promote the college within churches and church assemblies. The Chaplain will also work with campus organizations and have committee assignments. The successful candidate will serve in a highly collaborative role across academic affairs, enrollment management, and student life to provide vision and leadership for spiritual development on campus. In addition, this person must be qualified to teach at least one course per semester in the academic study of religion and philosophy. This position requires excellent campus ministry skills, diligent management of budgets, and some weekend/evening work. Requirements for the position include a master's degree (doctorate preferred and ordination, preferably in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or reciprocating denomination.
